Solutions
The Farm Sitting platform included a mobile app built with React Native for both iOS and Android, enabling farmers to register farms, post jobs, and connect with sitters. Real-time chat and job updates were powered by Firebase Realtime Database and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). The web app, built with Next.js and Tailwind CSS, provided a responsive interface for farmers to manage their farms and sitters. A serverless backend was implemented using Firebase Cloud Functions to ensure scalability and efficiency. The admin panel allowed full control over user management, job postings, and activity tracking, while also providing real-time insights into platform usage. Job workflows were streamlined, with sitters able to apply for jobs, submit photos upon completion, and receive payments after approval.
